ELAS short holidays
ELAS has organised many 3 or 4 day holidays, pre-Covid, and some included meet-ups with contacts from other regions. Sizes ranged from a couple of members to big enough group to hire a hostel. Previous destinations included Findhorn, Inverness, Mull and Oban, Dumfriesshire, Berwick, several in the Lake District, Liverpool, Manchester, York, Belfast, Dublin, London, Barcelona.

Number 6 connections
Members of ELAS who live in Lothian or the Borders are eligible to attend the drop-ins or group activities of Autism Initiatives' Number 6 service.

Before our present pattern of Saturday evening meeting developed, ELAS used to hold some Saturday afternoon socials starting at Number 6. This served as a way to open up some of Number 6's drop-in time to participation by non-Lothian residents too.
It would be good to revive this sometimes, with new non-Lothian regulars.

The territorial boundary of residence that One Stop Shop services get funded to cover, including for their social communities, when not everywhere has such a service, has always been divisive and good reason to support groups like ELAS that are local-based but have no territorial boundary, and to repeat our model elsewhere.
